Keep It Simple Stupid
In the wise words of my old soccer coach: keep it simple stupid (K.I.S.S.).
Life often feels so complicated doesn’t it? Sometimes I think that living in the city amplifies that feeling, which is why I am a firm believer that there are times when you just have to GET OUT.
Last Saturday, for my friend’s birthday, a group of my girlfriends and I hopped into a car and drove out to Abbotsford for the day. I know what you’re thinking, not exactly the most exotic location, but life is just a little slower and simpler out there in a really beautiful way.
We perused the quaint little downtown core, stopping in coffee shops and stores along the way, taking the time to drink it all in. We went for a long walk up near Cascade Falls and basked in the crisp air and awe-inspiring scenery. None of this felt frantic or rushed and it made me think that maybe we’re making life a little more complicated than it has to be.
Us city folk have some things we could learn from those who choose a quieter way of life. Each day has its tasks, but one by one they get done, don’t make it more complicated than it has to be. Just keep it simple stupid.
